The Ripon Repair Cafe is a new neighbourhood initiative that is serving as an alternative to the common practice of throwing away items that don’t work effectively or have broken. Every other month, three hours at St Wilfred’s Community Centre on Trinity Lane will be dedicated to fixing any issues with household equipment belonging to local residents – any items can be brought to the Cafe to be fixed free of charge on the spot, thanks to the help of voluntary repairers. There is still a great need for more volunteers to act as ‘repair experts’ during the meetings – those who are handy with textiles, bicycles, electrical appliances, furniture, jewellery, clocks, ornaments and many more, please get in touch with riponrepaircafe@gmail.com.

The first meeting of the Repair Cafe will take place on Saturday 12th July.
