Ripon’s third Green Fair took place on Saturday 11 October, at Allhallowgate Methodist Halls – and this year it was all about YOU

After listening to feedback from last year, the Fair focused on practical ideas and everyday actions people can take to live more sustainably. From insulating their home to cutting waste, from planting trees to sustainable travel, there was something for everyone.

This year the Green Fair also featured the results of Ripon Together’s recent 20mph survey, which asked local residents whether lower speed limits would be good for Ripon. The results showed strong feelings from all sides of the argument.  Overall, 37% of respondents are strongly against a the idea, with 26% strongly for.  Detailed results will be avavilable on this website shortly.

But the Fair wan’t just about ideas – it was about people. It is fast becoming a hub for those who care about Ripon’s environment to connect, share, and volunteer. Many local groups need extra hands, and visitors found plenty of chances to get involved.
