FunFest: free fun for Ripon’s children and families

At least 290 children and young people joined FunFest on Wednesday 19 August for a free day of activities, with parents, carers and younger siblings adding to the crowd.  It was a chance to get active, try something different and enjoy time together during the school holidays.  For parents and carers, having free activities close to home made a real difference. As two attendees put it:

“The Funfest is so accessible for parents because it is free.”

“We don’t have far to go for the children to have a good time.”

Families also appreciated the care and effort that went into the event. One attendee described it as “Really well organised”, while another said: “The young ladies doing the face painting were lovely with the children.”Perhaps the simplest verdict says it best: “It’s been an amazing day for the children.”

Ripon Together thanks the activity providers, volunteers and everyone whose support made FunFest possible—and all the children and families who came along and joined in.
